Return Policy

This Return Policy applies to all purchases made through the SAPawn Marketplace at sapawn.co.za/shop. It should be read together with our Refund Policy.

1. Your Right to Return (Cooling-Off Period)

In terms of Section 44 of the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, you have the right to return goods purchased online within 7 (seven) days of receiving them, without providing a reason.

Conditions for Cooling-Off Returns:

• The item must be returned in the same condition as received
• All original accessories, packaging, and documentation must be included
• The item must not have been used, damaged, or altered in any way
• You must notify us within 7 days of receipt by emailing accounts@sapawn.co.za

A reasonable administration fee of up to 10% of the purchase price may apply, as permitted by the Consumer Protection Act.

2. Defective Goods

In terms of Section 56 of the Consumer Protection Act, if goods are defective, unsafe, or not of good quality within 6 (six) months of delivery, you may request:

• A repair of the item
• A replacement of the item
• A refund of the purchase price

For second-hand goods, "defective" refers to faults that were not disclosed in the item listing or that render the item unfit for its intended purpose.

3. How to Return an Item

1. Email accounts@sapawn.co.za with your order reference number, the item description, and the reason for return
2. Attach photographs of the item if reporting a defect
3. Our team will review your request and respond within 2 business days
4. If approved, we will provide return shipping instructions or arrange collection

4. Return Shipping Costs

• Cooling-off returns: Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer
• Defective items: Return shipping costs are covered by the seller
• Seller error (wrong item sent): Return shipping costs are covered by the seller

5. Non-Returnable Items

The following items are not eligible for return:

• Items purchased at auction (auction sales are final and binding)
• Items that have been altered, damaged, or used after receipt
• Items collected in person where the buyer inspected the goods before taking possession
• Items returned after the 7-day cooling-off period (unless defective)

6. Inspection and Processing

Once a returned item is received by the selling shop:

• The item will be inspected to verify its condition
• If the return is approved, a refund will be processed within 14 business days
• If the return is rejected (item not in original condition), the item will be returned to you at your cost
