Cancellation Policy

Orders & Subscription Cancellations

This Cancellation Policy applies to marketplace purchases and software subscriptions on the SAPawn platform at sapawn.co.za. All amounts are in South African Rand (ZAR).

1. Cancelling a Marketplace Order

1.1 Before Dispatch

You may cancel a marketplace order at any time before the item has been dispatched or collected. To cancel, email accounts@sapawn.co.za with your order reference number. If cancellation is confirmed before dispatch:

  • You will receive a full refund via the original payment method
  • Refunds are processed within 14 business days

1.2 After Dispatch

Once an item has been dispatched, you may not cancel the order. However, you may exercise your 7-day cooling-off right under the Consumer Protection Act after receiving the item. See our Return Policy for details.

1.3 Auction Purchases

Auction bids are binding commitments. Once you win an auction, you are obligated to complete the purchase. Auction purchases cannot be cancelled. Non-payment may result in account suspension.

2. Cancelling a Software Subscription

This section applies to pawn shop owners who subscribe to the SAPawn platform software.

2.1 How to Cancel

You may cancel your subscription at any time by:

  • Contacting us at accounts@sapawn.co.za
  • Or through your account settings on the platform

2.2 What Happens When You Cancel

  • You retain full access to the platform until the end of your current billing period
  • No further payments will be charged after cancellation
  • Subscription payments already made are non-refundable for the current period

2.3 Data After Cancellation

  • Your data will be retained for 90 days after your subscription expires
  • During this period, you may reactivate your subscription or request a data export
  • After 90 days, your data may be permanently deleted
  • Items listed on the Marketplace will be removed from public view when your subscription expires

3. Cancellation by SAPawn

SAPawn reserves the right to cancel orders or suspend subscriptions in the following circumstances:

  • Suspected fraudulent activity
  • Breach of our Terms of Service
  • Non-cooperation with a police investigation
  • Failure to maintain a valid second-hand goods dealer licence

In such cases, we will notify you by email with the reason for cancellation.
